Background and development of Inspiring IAG
Inspiring IAG is a national provider licensed to deliver The Quality in Careers Standard Award.
The award not only enables organisations to be recognised for good quality careers education, information, advice and guidance, but to also assists in meeting legislation, preparing for inspection and providing a better service to young people. It is mapped against the Gatsby benchmarks.
Inspiring IAG was one of the first awards in the country to be nationally validated by The Quality in Careers Standard (QiCS) which is the overarching national standard that endorses CEIAG quality awards meeting the national validation criteria.
In 2017 we have moved to a license model and we are proud to uphold our position in delivering a quality award as we are a Licensed Awarding Body for the national Quality in Careers Standard.
IIAG was originally developed by the Greater Manchester Connexions Service Providers and is now managed through a partnership of the local authorities in Greater Manchester. We are grateful to New Economy and the Combined Authority in Manchester for their continued support and recognition. Since gaining national recognition many parts of the country are selecting Inspiring IAG as their preferred CEIAG supplier to deliver the national quality award. We hope this will continue as we have moved to the national approach of a single quality award. We will continue to support Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, Colleges, Sixth Forms and Training Providers through our network of approved mentors and assessors.
The award is strategically managed by the Inspiring IAG Management Group and is coordinated by a Project Manager. It is reviewed regularly to ensure it reflects and meets national developments and legislation.
The Award made me really think about provision, identify any gaps and how and what we needed to do to address this.
